You’ve always had the power, my dear.
“You’ve always had the power, my dear; you just had to learn it for yourself.” – Glenda (“Wizard of Oz”)
Change is HARD.
We all find ourselves in situations where change must occur, but we also find that change is the hardest part of moving past our circumstances.
For the last few years I have found myself in a state of constant frustration. Something had to give or my frustration was going to get the better of me. I was either going to melt down or experience an epic fail. With the support of my husband and closest confidants, I made the ultimate decision that I have to step away from full-time teaching.
This is a decision that I NEVER dreamed I would ever consider. I LOVE teaching!!!
I LOVE my husband and children even more. They need me to be healthy and happy. They need me to be able to give them my best attention and affection and I feel like I cannot give that while teaching.
“You’ve always had the power, my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself.”
Teaching has been and continue to be a successful calling for me but my weariness is not good for my family or me. I always tell my students to walk away from situations that are not good for them, but taking this advice for myself has not been easy. I hope my choice to refocus my energy towards my family and our farm has taught my students that there are things in life worthy of change.
Finding the power to make change is tough but it can be found. It is inside ourselves.
