“It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

This week I have been inspired to share wise words of others that I think should be brought to light. Eleanor Roosevelt was a woman of intelligence and dignity. I always enjoy her advice and today’s quote is no different.

“It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness.”

If you are experiencing a tough time right now. Be it illness, work, relationship or lack there of relationship issues, or financial find a candle of happiness in your heart that you can light. The warmth created from a flicker of hope can spark a wild-fire of passion and inspiration that just might be your ticket out of your current darkness.

“It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness.”

If things are going great in your world, be a candle bearing light to someone in your life. Be the guiding light that helps them find comfort or happiness (even if for just a few moments). Store away some of these bright moments to be your glimmers of greatness on your own gray days. This is one of the best ways to be your own shining example of defeat the darkness of depression and despair.

If your intent is to let your light shine, the darkness doesn’t have a chance. Don’t curse it. Outshine it.
