Fireworks Time…

Fireworks Time

I don’t know about you, but it seems like as soon as 4th of July hits, the year speeds up. It’s like the fireworks fuel the sun’s rotations to rev up its turns. My kids seem to grow faster. The school year speeds at me. Even Christmas seems to come closer at a much more rapid pace.

What can we do about it though?

Well, let’s put some spark into our Intentergy!

Make plans to do things that matter. Find ways to make your days sparkle with purpose and beauty. Fire up your forgiveness for the past and set your fears aflame as you say “good-bye” to the things that have been holding you back.

Fireworks Time 2In my last post I encouraged others to follow their hearts but use their heads. If there is something you know that has been dousing your flame, squelch its power over you and move on. Make connections with those who are positive in your life and find ways to shine your own light for others who could use it. When we make connections, we make the lights of those around us shine.

My daughter did this as she made some new friends in her recent adventures at horseback riding camp. She used her experiences from riding horses at home to encourage and teach the other girls in her group and earned an award for her horsemanship in the process. She could have fanned the flames of their fears by not helping them, but instead she used her passion for riding to stir up their confidence and enjoyment as well.

It’s as simple as that.

As for fireworks speeding up time, the best advice I can give and follow is to: Slow down. Find more nights to grill and eat on the patio with your family. Take time to have coffee or go for a walk with a friend. Turn off the electronics and play some board games. Watch the sun set or rise. Catch some fireflies and frogs. Write and send a letter to someone you love. Don’t let the clock drag you at the speed of fireworks. Make your moments and sparks count.
